I really hate wasting business cards and it seems that every bulletin board I see has a multitude of business cards thumb tacked to the board. I wonder if people only take a card when they need a thumb tack for a lost dog poster.

I guess it would depend on where the board is located and what type of client you're after.
Personally, it is not something I'd look at or consider for my own business. I can't remember the last time I actually saw a bulletin board.

I've never done bulletin boards but I did buy a business card holder (6 slots) for my chiropractors office. They displayed my card, their card, and a few other select customer businesses. I didn't get any business from it... except the chiropractor himself. That made it worthwhile!

If there's a board where I frequent tacking a few in place can't hurt. I was able to get a $1,700 rental for a customer who picked one up. Guess that card paid for itself wouldn't you say?

Depends on the target market and the location, you never know when the right person will pull your card off the board and give you call
I dont do it but in rural areas I see plenty of people who do and suspect that it pays for the 10 cent card to have them up there.

I have never placed a card on a bulletin board. If I see a one I always look to see what is on there at the Y and at my coffee shop. I never recognize a single name on there and have never chose a company off of one. I think it can help with branding though.

I probably wouldn't go out of my way to find bulletin boards to place my card on. However, if I'm in my favorite coffee shop and there is a bulletin board, I'd place my card there. They're cheap and it's free advertising. If it caught my attention, it might catch another person's attention.

I do not leave mine on bulletin boards. I see usually there only those ''pay cash for your house!'' or ''I'll sell your house for free!''.

I don't do it. But hey- cards are super inexpensive and tacking one on is not time consuming.

I don't do it, but I know a lot of agents do. It doesn't seem a worthwhile way to advertise.
1,683,912
I say worthless. When was the last time you went to a bulliten board at the entrance or exit of a grocery store or business? Now if you have a break room at your business and that's for the employees, it may be worth it.
5,131,559
I have done this only once with no success. In the right place, and with limited cards, I might again. I'd rather a store owner be willing to take some cards to share if I have done an article and photo and/or video on the shop for them
2,105,738
I see those bulletin boards at grocery stores, these days. I can't imagine anyone making a decision to hire a Realtor based on finding their business card on a bulletin board... but, hey, you never know.
290,969
For me, it would depend on where the bulletin boards were - I do see them at the cleaners, at our auto repair place, and at the gym, but not at the doctor's office, or at any other professional's office. If I was leaving a card, it would just be '1', and not a handful, and it would be at a place where I was a regular customer - where we knew each other business-wise Paul S. Outside of small town stores, I've never noticed boards. Probably wouldn't hurt to stick a card on it though!

I do not. I cannot recall the last time I used any service I saw on a bulletin board, however I have gone to community events I've seen advertised on the one at the local Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

I don't know. I haven't run into very many bulletin boards around here.

Bulletin boards are not worthless.
Placing a business card on a bulletin board is.
Imagine what would happen if instead of a business card the agent posted something anybody actually cared about. Perhaps a card with a different message that does not sound like "Look At ME!"
420,985
I've watched staff in many of the locations I used to put them in clean the board off every week. The problem is people take advantage and clutter up the board, posting over other people etc. It might work for some but I don't waste my cards anymore. I might as well just take 5 or 6 and throw them directly in the trash each week, it would be the same thing.
