What's ironic is both Mexico and Ethiopia are almost as energy resource rich as we are. Too bad their governments are too corrupt to ever bring those resources to fruition that could help their people out of poverty.

We Americans should help raise those Third World countries to our wonderful standards of living, not lower ourselves to theirs.

Thanks Conrad for the info. Question, since I live in America but am not American, do I use less energy?

Somehow this ratio does not surprise me. We are not a very "economical" society as a whole.

So my estimate was high. I think I said 35%.
Did you know I use to live off the grid? I did this for almost five years. I had a well and used solar and wind power. My life has changed since then and so has technology. When I get rich and famous, I will go off the grid again, and help to cut that consumation number.
