Absolutely not. In fact, I always remind my clients that the sign of a good negotiation and transaction is that all parties walk away from the table feeling like winners.

Transactions don't have to be adversarial, but sometimes the other agent insists on it being that way.

There is zero need for it. Some old school agents feel they will succeed through posturing. They may win the battle but will lose the war!

No but for some reason they turn into them. I really wonder if it is the buyers or the agents? I think that agents not saying certain things give the buyers a certain perception of what should go on.
Ex - switchplate is crooked in the kitchen. Buyers want it 'repaired' .... really? As an agent I would tell the buyer that their expectations of the house are unrealistic & read them the contract verbiage. I would also tell the buyers that is an embarrasing request. I know I work for them but there are levels of insanity that you have to stop.

Good morning Paul. It is a little crazy that real estate transaction have to be confrontational, so often it is about how issues are presented, but we have all seem situations that turned out to be battles.

They certainly don't have to be but sometimes stuff happens and it doesn't always involve the principals in the transaction. For the most part, things typically go smoothly and buyer/seller are happy at close.

95% of our transactions are win/win. Every once in a while a buyer or seller will be upset with something. It's inevitable.

Real estate transactions often start with some level of confrontation or suspicion. It's up to the agents whether this situation is made better or worse by the time closing day arrives.

100% NO! transactions only get confrontational only get that way when one side does something egregious and or the drama addicted Realtor wants to make a mountain out of a mole hill to become a hero by fixing what they instigated.

No, never. But it happens sometimes. The best transactions are those when both parties are happy with the deal and the agents check their egos at the door.

Not at all. For example...you have a seller that wants to sell, and I have a buyer that wants to buy the house. Let's make it happen and let's make it a fun and smooth process for everyone involved. Keep egos out of the transaction and work to get it done...that goes for all parties involved.
