Yes, I can certainly be annoying; just ask my husband !   I find some of those things you listed get under my skin too.

I guess my biggest peeve though is that many members don't proofread or spell check what they put on the Internet through the ActiveRain platform.   I don't understand how they can get business looking that unprofessional for the whole world to see fron now until infinity, . . . . . and beyond.

I'm NOT perfect by any means so I check and recheck; read and reread every writing I do BEFORE I publish it.   I then reread the published version to make sure a gremlin from cyberspace hasn't messed it up so I can fix it within the time period I can still edit my writing.

I'm guilty of #3, except it's not a cut and paste.... the thought is the same but always stated differently....and I apologize if it annoys you, Mimi.... I thought it was legitimate to separate the conversation/response to their post and the welcome and a reflection of what they'll gain from AR....

People are who they are and some things make absolutely no sense.

I check new listing here frequently. Most are fine, some are wonderful posts. But...

Please don't post a listing without a single photo.

Ditto for listings that have no links or address.

Mimi #3 made me laugh out loud.  I have noticed the second comment seems to be a cut and paste.  So I guess if you comment on 10 new posts with that follow up pasted in below you're all pointed up for the day. <insert eye roll here>

I suppose mine is those folks who write 50 or 51 word posts that say nothing 10 times a week.

I've noticed 1 and 2 on your list, and I just let it go. I'll have to think about this. I don't know if I have any pet peeves with AR. Now when it comes to pictures and information imputed in my local MLS...well that's a different story. 

1.  Members who do not identify their City or State on their profile page. 

2.  Silhouettes instead of photos or logos.

3.  Bait and Switch blogs that only contain a Link to some other website or video.

1) Spam listers repeating the same listings repeatedly with just a matter of a few days separating the posts.  Why?

2) Robo posters

3) Members who do not identify their brokerage affiliation in their primary profile.

OH!  There are so many more! I will leave room for others to complain.

I tend to let all that go and not get bothered. I know I have made a mistake or two of liking my own comments when I was liking other peoples and went back and corrected but sure I have missed undoing some. It was not intended to pat myself on the back, just a mistake.

I really don't have any pet peeves other than rude comments that are uncalled for and unwarranted especially to the newer members. And yes I am tired of seeing the same test or homework questions posted so I just skip over them.

#2 - people think they are helping your SEO by doing it. Too bad they're not paying attention as to where they are.

The ads that are now popping up are annoying. 

The mini-ads they let vendors post in the AR Droplet Newsletter.

I wish that people who describe something beautiful in nature, would post a picture along with their description. Just reading a black and white paragraph doesn't really do it for me.

Mimi – I really focus on not allowing shit to bother me, annoy me, or frustrate me in any way.  That said, my mantra most days is … “let it go, Kathleen.”

You've hit on some good ones, but they don't really bother me except maybe the "self love".

I mostly enjoy our time on AR and find very litle I dislike.

But I'm not a fan of blog posts that are 50 words or so and say nothing. Likewise, comments that are meaningless. I get it that you want the points, but, if you're not building relationships, they you are missing the point.

Mimi Foster When someone answers their own question as part of the question. I quess they are looking for opinions or agreement.

I don't get annoyed easily, but one member who always took the opposing opinion to a post would get me. He was entitled to his opinion, but on public posts I thought the phrasing of the comment was unprofessional. 

Grammar and spelling when it is really, really bad is an irritation, but I've learned to brush it off.

Comments on Q&A and blogs that don't answer the question or are off the mark leave me scratching my head.

Commenting as a placeholder and adding nothing to a discussion do bother me.

The rest don't register on my peeve meter at all. But from what I've read, it may get someone banned for life!!! 

Pet peeves, thin skinned....neither are good attributes.

My pet peeve is people who have pet peeves about AR (just kidding).  I just enjoy my time here.

I always wonderd why they comment twice. I thought it is to help the newbie get extra points.

My pet peeve on AR is people who are rude, it has only happened to me a couple of times.

The overuse of tagging.

Good morning Mimi. I'm sure between my grammar and spelling errors it must annoy some, hopefully not badly.

I've seen all of this... but can't say I've given it much thought. What I find most annoying is people who comment on my blog and it's clear:

1. that they haven't read it

2. that they've left the same comment on on 10 other blogs.

Interesting answers from everyone.  I like others, was unsure of the Upvote button when I started and would get confused, did I upvote? What if I accidentally downvote?   I've noticed #3. Don't bother me.  Amanda and Jared Christiansen I thought members would comment like that just to say, "Hey, I stopped by and can't help, but-- I'm here." 

Those who tag you to say only Thank You.   They tag everyone.

I just did #1 for the first time today.  I really liked my answer on a question!  Thought it was sheer brilliance.

#2 - Not sure what you mean by "on your site", I'm assuming you mean tagging you in an answer to your own question/blog?  Yes, that doesn't make much sense except in subcomments.  Plus, many of us turned off the email notifications (when they work) about comments, etc.

#3 - As far as I know, you only get points the first time you comment on a blog.  One time I made a second comment the following day and did not receive points for it.  That is the extent of my testing.

To me, people do #3 to separate the messages.  Give the poster a welcome message and a separate comment to talk about their blog.  At least, that's how I saw it on my blogs.  Especially when it came from an ambassador.
