They advertise to their "captive audience" and the borrowers rarely check the rates, service or products because they ASSUME  they are getting a good deal.

I agree with Bob Betel that their rates are higher and they are using mostly out of state Internet providers.   Our rates are lower while our service and products are personal to the borrower.

I too, would recommend you use a Professional LICENSED Mortgage Loan Originator in your LOCAL community that knows YOUR market !

I haven't had anyone use them but it is important to have a brick & mortar place in the area. Out of state lenders always have problems.

After checking their rates and closing costs, they are higher than what I am offering my customers. Plus, they are an Internet lender and out of state. Go with a Professional local lender instead.

I had a client who thought he'd get a great deal with Costco, but once he delved into them... not so much, especially as his mortgage needs are not exactly "vanilla cone," despite huge income, stellar credit, etc. And the rates were higher!

I think TRID should make people think twice before using Costco as a mortgage source.

They need to stick to what they do best, selling bulk goods!

I have not had any deals where clients used their loan services.

Good morning Don. I have never run into anyone that has done a mortgage through Costco. There is nothing that they can do that I can't.

I remember a while back Long & Foster tried to make a deal with Costco to provide discounted services to its members, and the agents pretty much revolted.  

If I was looking for mortgage I would look for reputable lender with long track record in my area.

I would contact Costco Concierge services or management and have them go on record about what so special...

I can't believe that Costco is in the finance business, too!!!

Those places are always trying to hype some benefit or another, though most are not as good as they sound.

     I get their advertisements, because I am a Costco member.   If I were shopping for a mortgage loan, I would want to see it in writing.
