You inviting us over?  We are both very particular on that subject.  It has to be beef raised on grass (no corn) no hormones, and not antibiotics, and prime grade!  When we lived in Napa, I drove 1/2 hour to shop at a market that had that.  And we both like it rare.  And we don't eat meat all that often...did I mention a good red cabernet...LOL A

     My grandfather came from a family of cattle ranchers.  He said that anything beyond medium rare ruined the flavor of the steak.  He also had no use for steak sauces like A1 or Heinz 57... he said those were for hiding the taste of poor cuts of meat.

I can do rare or the cowboy way which is charred and everything in between.  Must be hot off the grill and plenty of salt too. When it comes to this subject, less talk and more example (eat) is the way to explore it properly. BTW...steak fries or mashed is a must plus some crispy bread to mop up the juices. If you gotta chunk of homemade pie, get it out here too

Good morning Leanne. It depends on the thickness of the steak, most of time it would be medium or medium rare.

I'm not a meat eater,but I cook for my son. It is always medium rare.

When I do eat a steak it would be medium rare, baked potato with extra sour cream and good horseradish on the side.

I don't like to eat much beef anymore....too high in fat.... when I do cook it for ME, I BOIL IT.... the same with white meat chicken....BOILED....

I am with Ron and Alexandra Seigel on this and I have intentionally reduced my consumption substantially. Prefer vegetarian and fish.

Medium for me.  Debbie growing up on a farm has to have ALL meats cooked well done.

RARE! Always did even as a kid and to the horror of my mom. I am also the only person in my family that loves sushi-go figure.
