There are posts that I don't expect to receive a ton of comments on (such as market reports). Then there are posts I'd expect more comments on and don't get them and posts I don't expect many comments on and get swamped with comments. I've stopped worrying about it and just post what I want and let it roll... comments always appreciated, but I don't feel neglected if I don't receive them.

I purposely ignore that activity. It is selfish and rude as it pushes others thoughtful posts right off the front page.

Points? I thought posts were to provide quality information to prospective clients. Google doesn't care when we post. Sunday evening posts for me are to complete my goal of marketing for the week that I didn't have time to do during the week.

There is no good reason for anyone to be a robo poster. Most often they dont know what the heck they are doing when it comes to blogging and how to get results from it, in simple words.

I get very few comments and even fewer features. I like to do my investor market reports when I have the time. If they are all in one day that is the way it goes. If they stoped the point system it would not affect my participation.

OK, Roger; I resemble that remark (question). I did something like this several weeks ago. It WAS NOT about the points !
My SEO folks said I needed to set a "baseline" in my marketplace. Some communities in my area had NEVER been mentioned in my blog posts. I needed to have at least one post referring to each of the towns and counties I am responsible for with the bank. I did a short bio piece and sent it out.
I was courteous enough to send out a blog post, IN ADVANCE, apologizing for any inconvenience it caused my readers. I also did it on a weekend to avoid clogging inboxes on a week day. I was being respectful.
Truth is, I DID NOT get points for ANY of those ! I told "Support" what I was doing and I ONLY received points for my regular daily posting that I did for that day.
It WAS NOT a points grab, it was a calculated move to help folks find ME when they are looking for a Virginia mortgage loan or a Virginia Mortgage Loan Originator ! Apology accepted.

Roger D. Mucci - well, you got a point.....!
I do 7 market reports on Sundays for the week. And I am okay with no comments on that. (It does take time - almost 2-4 hours to complete them so I believe there are some faces inbetween...lol!)
I have about 500+ views on many of them and some crossed 1000 views mark, too.
The point for me is - I have to do 'that' kind of blogging for my business!
(And not defending my action...may be, I should do one every day.)

Yep, that's me! I post them in a row because I do them all at once. It's much easier to get them done when you're in a groove. I budget 45 minutes to get them done, sometimes over two days with the way my calendar has been lately!
And to the comments, I post market reports and event listings. I don't expect comments on those. Listings to some extent I do. When I write about something, I hope to get comments, but I won't cry myself to sleep if I don't get them.

That's fine if that's the way you want to treat your blog. You will still have the information out there for the consumer to find. That is my ultimate goal...to have the buyers and sellers find me and see me as the local expert. Although I don't blog this way. I'm lucky if I even get ten posts in a week.

I know from personally being on AR daily, that you do not always have time to view and comment on everyone's post, even those that you Follow. It can be days later than you get back to leaving a reply, so people should not be discouraged if they don't hear the same day. That being said, there are multiple posts by the same author (robo posts) that I do not comment on nor read. I've never done that myself, Roger D. Mucci. Maybe it's part of their 'weekly quota' and that can be either business-wise or personal-wise - I do not know . . . you are correct in that it does take up Front Page space!!

I do market reports on Monday and Wednesday. I never dump 10 at a time.

And those ten in a row posts are typically not worth commenting on...

I don't care as much about comments or likes as I do about clicks. It's nice to know I'm being read.
5,944,341
The serial posters do not get many comments, and usually listings or the same market report, different area.
1,157,791
Some people do market posts for different areas. SEO is another reason.
