I do monitor mine regularly and recommend everyone else do the same.  I also advise people considering doing a mortgage in the next 12 months to pull a copy of all three agencies reports and fix or clean up any errors and inaccuracies before applying to speed up the process.

You get one free from each .of the three major repository every year thanks to our Federal Government. Those are Equifax, Experian and Trans Union credit reports. I rotate one every 4 months to keep tabs on the goings on in the portfolio. Knowing about your credit is the only way you'll ever improve it. If it's FREE it's for ME!

Yes & I belong to Credit Karma where if anyone does anything they send me an email. Had someone steal my identity about 1.5 years ago & it was a nightmare. Having the credit monitoring alerted me but the damage was already taking place. In the end, I did find out sooner than if I didn't belong to one of those companies.

Funny thing was, we had many stores get hacked (Target, Home Depot, Jewel Grocery) here in my area so I was a member of 3 services each from a different store when 'odd' things started happening.

Yes, and you can actually use that more than once a year for free.  At least I have in the past.  I also have automated tools and other manual ones keeping it safe.

Yes, it is wise to check one's credit report at least once a year. Some credit cards are giving you the option to check it on a monthly basis for FREE.

We have a LifeLock membership and they send us our free credit report each year. I do check it.

It's a very good idea to monitor your credit report on a regular basis and nip problems/errors in the bud. Yes, you get a free one and can order online.

I can check it online as often as wanted.  I get FICO and consumer credit at no charge. Can ask for detailed stats at no cost.

Out of that system finally. Cash or debit card for me...No More Credit!

That way, you are getting a report every 4 months.
