I wouldn't be too concerned about what other Realtors think . . . ask the public in your market their opinion. I know when I'm out with Buyers or just with civilians in general, they tend to badmouth the signs with pictures. I'm often shocked at how negative some of the comments can be. I watch and learn.

I put my picture on my signs about 12 years ago.... I believe it does help as I'm always running into people who recognize me from my signs and/or who think they've met me before when they haven't. I get a lot of "oh yes I see you on signs all over the area." It's hard to quantify but I believe the face recognition along with name recognition is important. When I had signs without my picture, I did not get as much recognition.

If you keep the picture up to date it will work; but down the road you do not want to walk into the listing and have someone ask who you are!

We do not; no one cares what you look like and you need a sign that can be read at a glance by drivers.

Hi Desmond, in my market you see a lot of photos, people remember faces better than names I think or it is easier to associate a name with a photo. It always worked for me and you have a great face so use it to your advantage!

I used to have both options, I did not notice any difference.
Good luck!

Some people have their photo on the signs while others do not. It is personal preference.

Desmond Neoh I'd say, it's okay to have your picture on your sign, Just make sure it changes every few years...

I'm not a fan of the photo on the yard sign. After enough time in real estate, you won't look like your photo anymore anyway.

I'm anti photo on sign, but I guess it depends on the market. But the sign is about selling the house, not about me the agent.

I think it depends no your area. In our area, agents do not typically put their picture on the sign, but they put their name on the sign. If you want recognition fast, spend money on a billboard with your picture on it. That will get you more recognition quickly than a For Sale Sign that many people just drive by.

It could help get people to recognize you. There are two schools of thought with that Desmond. One is my answer, the other is that some people prejudge folks by their looks and that means some people will not like us just by our looks. As crazy as it sounds, I have read this many times.

I do not, as I would prefer to market the home. I see Nina's point too.

I'd say no. Just like business cards, you need to update that photo every 5-10 years. I prefer to keep my cards and signs usable until the die or I find a better sign, so no photo. Just my name, number and company.

Desmond Neoh I would think it is a personal preference for the same reason you may have your picture on your business card and web site.

We don't put our photo on signs but we do put our name riders on them. Our market does better with name recognition rather than photos.
3,416,038
It can help build a brand but the sign needs to be bold and easy to read by someone driving by. Nothing worse than a cluttered sign

Entirely up to you. I don't have one on mine. Selling a house is not all about me, it's about the home. Come to think of it, I don't see pictures on signs in my market.

100% YES. It's called branding and it will definitely help you. Best of luck!

if you're in a luxury marketplace, don't have your photo on the sign...if you're in a middle class area, you need your photo everywhere....

How will you react if some morning you drive down Eldorado Blvd and on your new yard sign you see your image is enhanced with a mustache and eye-patch?
I would recommend a 'slogan' or memorable logo.
Can one tell what you do my looking at your image? If the image was actually a yard post with SOLD rider and your image on that sign, now you've got something. Your 'image' becomes the logo the clearly reveals what you do on any media you choose. Your sign on a font yard suggests very clearly what you do.
In the end, if you think your appearance is an asset, you should run with it. And every year you get better looking update your media. Don't go the other way.

People too often judge each other based on first impressions. Let your first impression be you and not your picture

No. Use that sign space for something else. phone, brokers name phone, website, logo, etc.
213,263
With a marketing background think of this: What info do you want them to capture at 40 MPH? I might suggest phone number or company or your name or website. People will not call because your face is cute, they will call about the house.

That's a personal preference. I wouldn't.
It could. Or couldn't.
It likely depends on your market and you.

Good morning Desmond. To a prospective home buyer it mostly likely doesn't matter.

I am not a fan of pictures on a sign. They are an invitation for little kids to draw a mustache, a beard, or whatever, they think is funny. A

I agree with Noah Seidenberg that it could hurt or could help. Starting out I would probably leave it off and just have your name and number. No judgment there.
1,241,754
Hard to see probably print your names larger.... That depends... Your phone # is crucial. I never had a customized OPEN HOUSE sign in 11 years. Just a generic "OH sign" and a rider with my name & phone #.
