I just wrote a blog post on how to FIX AR Groups . The comments being left on it show that a well managed Group STILL has viable Readership !

James, I rarely post to groups. I deleted sever of mine the other day.

I post to groups but your question makes me wonder why. 

I post to groups but like you, mostly the same.   Many groups do not seem to be moderated.  

I have on occasion, but then when I go to a group to read the posts of that specific group, so many seem off-topic that I'm really not sure it's worth it.

I have deleted inactive groups.

Depends upon what the topic of my blog post is.  I am not sure who goes to the group post to read and therefore not sure it really makes much difference.

When considering posting to a group I found the directory to be so cumbersome I realized only those already participating (the O L D T I M E R S)  in these groups will see the post. I was seeking a fresher audience.

Having a million choices is the same as having no choice.

But, if you like the choir you are in, don't abandon your chior.

I do post to groups..out of habit!

I rarely post to groups any more. It's not the best use of time.  Most people don't read by groups..just the moderator.  For sure stop posting in the group that on one posts to...I'm sure no one is reading those.

I post to groups because I'm used to doing so, James. But I really don't know to what degree it makes a huge difference. I figure it doesn't hurt so why not take the extra 10 seconds to do it.

Why not? More exposure to your blog.

James - I don't think posting to groups really serves any purpose.

I do, but think the groups have lost their gusto.

I do post to some groups based on interest. Though as Roger mentioned just out of habit.

I don't use the groups.

I still post to groups, but only certain ones that I know are active. I hope we get this part of AR fixed up soon.

James, I never posted to a group, then I started to recently.  Not sure if it gets me any more views or not.  I've had a few of my blogs featured in the group though.

I really don't think it makes a big difference.

Early o0n I did, but no longer as I fear that my post will become pigeon-holed.

I post to several of them, get a few extra readers from them but not many.

James- I post to certain groups as a habit.   If you check on many of the groups, they are inactive or have very little activity. So, for me, I don't post to them. 

I haven't posted regularly to any groups. Some seem to be well moderated so those may be worthwhile.

There are some groups that are much mor eactve than others. I receive support from just posting, but receive a boost when i post to certain groups. 

Good morning James Dray.  I post to groups.  I was told it can add to the number of readers that will see your posts.  Apparently some groups are not active, so those would be a waste of time.  I just learned about a group that focuses on video photography.  I am going to look up that group and see what I can learn.  My opinion is,  there is a value to some groups.

I still pick and choose what groups to post to but not sure if it makes much of a difference.

Some groups are dead so I no longer do which is a shame. 

There are active groups but sometimes what people post is not APPROPRIATE. I get miffed when I see market reports or local posts being posted to the Realtor Group, etc.  As far as I know there are only 3-5 active groups here.

People just post everything to one spot which is not the point of a topic group. Stop it folks!

They've also just added the 'hide post to Groups' feature which I thought was odd.  Unless you don't want your post to be seen in the Craptacular Group I guess lol.
