Confront, every time.  If it slides, they'll consider it open season for fraud and a "whatever it takes" attitude.  I'd rather lose commissions, clients, partners, whatever, than risk my license & career.  I've used this line more times than I'd like to be able to recall: "I'm sure there's someone out there that will help you pull off what you're trying to pull off, but it won't be me.  I value your business, but I value my career more"

This is one of those, "It depends."  If it's a little white lie I might let it slide.  But a big nasty one?  maybe not.  My style is to solve challenges that are thrown my way and minimize the impact on the buyer and seller.

If it is against my reputation, the client is toast.  If it jeopardizes the sale, it really depends on what is going on.  If I can repair it and the client isn't a total jerk, I will try it.  If he is an unmentionable body part, he is on his own.

Paul - I do what I can to deal with the issue without flat out confronting the client. I will certainly bring it up, but treat it like a misunderstanding and work to resolve it.

However, if they flat out lie and deny, then I would seriously have to consider how that could impact things. I don't need trouble, and certainly don't need any legal issues.
