We don't have Supra in our area so yes, it is a courtesy to the Sellers. I have no fear of any ploy to 'steal' my listing, LOL. It would take more than that!

In our association, we are always expected to leave a card in an occupied home to let sellers know we have come and gone. Unoccupied homes we don't leave cards. I've never had a worry about competition from "ptential second agents." But I have picked up some listings from my card--not because I left a card behind, but because I provded valuable feedback on the showing and seller was impressed enough to call me.

I like the showing agent to leave a card as a courtesy to say they have been there.

This practice is customary in my region. I think the seller likes knowing the agent was there, and I like having the seller know I showed their house.

It doesn't make a difference to us...we advise the Seller of the details of the showings from the Supra lockbox report...

Alan May It is customary to leave cards behind here. One way to show the seller their home has showings.

Good morning Alan. Sure, I see it as a way to keep the seller aware that the property is being shown.

Good morning Alan. I think it's customary here, it's not required.

It is the custom in Elkhart County to leave your card, but neighboring county takes offense.

It's not that important because they leave an electronic business card when they open the electronic Lockbox.

I don't need them to leave a card. I know by the Supra lock that they were there.

Not really, I collect them and file them after I call to check for feedback on price, condition, interest, etc, etc.

We do not use Supra locks and leaving a business card is the norm. However, I do not like them being left out.

I think it's helpful for occupied showings, especially if sellers had to leave the house for the appointment, but Sentilock gives us a record or everyone and I can let them know
979,496
Alan - Although it does seem custom in my area, I don't need them to prove anything. Our Supra Lockbox records every showing, and it is easy to present that to our sellers.
763,883
The card is nice to get but the most important thing is to have them register through the lockbox. We are able to follow up immediately with this being recorded online.
3,986,258
Yes and I collect them all. I tell my sellers I use them to cross reference the showing swhich I do
3,345,091
It is custom and protocol in my area. I have zero concern about "potential second agents" ... that thought has never entered my mind.

I always collected the cards at the end of the day.... the sellers were told in advance what to expect and to not call those agents.... we had our game plan carved in stone and they always followed my guidance...

I would rather they did not leave their cards behind and ask them not to. Recently another agent left a listing proposal behind that i enjoyed contacting their managing broker with.

If the home is occupied I will leave it. It's a common-courtesy practice in our area. I do refuse to add to the collection on the counter at a vacant home.
921,504
No, I don't.
No they won't.
Mr and Mrs Seller will receive confirmation when I call them within two hours of the showing with proper buyer feedback.
The 'SUPERIOR' service listing agent will be present to accept the card when the buyers agent goes rogue.

I leave mine because that's just what I've always done, even though my info gets recorded on lockbx. It is good business practice, and I prefer agents leave their cards. It also let's the owners know that appointments were kept and there house was shown as scheduled. I usually write the time we arrived and left on back of my card. Sellers don't have accounts with lb companies so they have no way of knowing who was in their house when they get home from work. Also, a good % of agents still use combo boxes, so leaving a card is a must on those.
32,051
My sellers get a weekly report outlining how many agents visited the property and their feedback, so in that aspect leaving cards for the sellers benefit is redundant.
No concern at all about the 'potential second agent'.
It's customary to leave them in this area, a lot of times I just forget.
613,494
I consider it common courtesy to let the seller know that I was there.
One time I did have a seller call me to help them find another house because they did not like their listing agent. So be it. Yes, I did sell them a house.

Alan May usually the sellers get notified through automated appointment system - so there is no need to request the buyer's agent to leave the business cards.
I have heard stories about agent leaving the card - and when the listing did not sell, became the listing agent!
1,502,998
It's the custom here too. Shows buyers that there are other interested parties too.
3,164,294
Nope. I ask them to text me when they leave if I know the owners want to get back home as soon as possible. Otherwise the lockbox gives me my info
864,658
Yes.
But isn't that the standard practice to always leave a business card after a showing?
1,683,912
There are those that make the sellers leave so they coud look at the home and when they arrive, say "Never mind" and nobody enters the home. The seller at least knows it is being show, I don't have a problem with that.
290,969
I'm 'ok' either way, because some do and some do not, though I always do Alan May. Of course I have that info from their Lockbox, too.
321,564
In our area agents do leave cards behind. We also use combo locks in the country.
1,153,794
It's my belief that old habits never die and Supra or Showing Desk type weekly reports will suffice to show activity. I often think that the second string is always kept at the ready if the starter falters.
1,239,901
2,781,173
Used to be the case but not anymore. Once upon a time, a listing agent had to prove their worth. One way was to say: see how many people came over?
1,052,211

No, I sometimes think it is a ploy for REALTORS® to get the listing if you don't sell it.
