Let me guess. The mls is owned by some of the brokers and not the agents?

We pay dues and I as a broker pay more than the salespeople.

Oklahoma City is a yearly fee separate from your dues. $600 annually.

WOW! we just pay flat fee annual dues and quarterly service fees. I'd never allow a % and how do they get away with that? Wouldn't they need to be a licensed-entity to collect a % given RESPA & NAR rules?

That's a new one, Anthony Acosta .  Can you tell us what the percentage per transaction is? 

Oh boy not here. I will not complain about my Miami dues anymore hearing that one.

We pay quarterly. I can't imagine having to pay a percentage of the sales price!

Two sizeable payments a year.

GEBOR MLS members pay dues.  GEBOR owns the MLS which means the members have say in how it is run.  However few members bother to attend meetings or get involved on committees

We pay to be a member, although it is not required.  Otherwise, no percentage of any sale

That is very unique!  Out here we have annual fees, around $500-$700 IIRC, incluing NAR and CAR membership dues.

Wow...that is different. We all pay the same whether one is a top producer or a newcomer to the business.

That sounds crazy to be charged a percentage of each sale! Is that even legal? Do agents complain about it? We are charged $139 quarterly. I think it would be better to just pay the entire fee upfront.

All buyers/seller get them for free. Some even have access to prorietary info like codes evidently leaked from their realtor friends/relatives.

MLS is like~ $646/ year getting same info as what non-paid public. The difference is professionals can create listings....

OMG...annual dues are enough.... I can't imagine being charged a percentage of the sale.... sounds like  RE/MAX charge!!

That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard.  So what if I'm out there producing $20,000,000 a year and another agent only produces $1,000,000 a year, they have to pay the same amount based on total sales?  That makes no sense to me.

What a racket that is. Everyone is charged the same price per year & I think it's $165 or $185.

When our MLS was broker owned it was never like that either. One fee per year, per person. We had 2 MLS's at one time & they became melded together.
