These types of parades haven't been my thing probably ever. I saw plenty of it yesterday though as I was working security for the event (with the Sheriff's Dept.). The only parade I go to is the one and only Doo Dah Parade. It's the "counter culture" parade that spoofs the big ones like Macy's, Rose Parade and Mummers. Synchronized briefcase drill teams, the 501st Star Wars Legion, people throwing tortillas, Macho Dog... Definitely my style of parade. It used to be televised live when I was growing up. I miss those days.
