Makes no difference- only one inspector is going to inspect house. Only problem could be that a single person operation can only schedule so much and the wait might be longer, so that could cause someone that neeeds an inspector right away to cal a multi inspector company.

Its an advantage if they are multi-skilled, such as having a structural engineer on staff. No advantage to just more inspectors except for scheduling on short notice.

Good question Michael, lets hope that they don't all answer single person, that could be bad for the questioner.

Only from a scheduling standpoint in terms of getting an inspector in quickly when needed. But there are inspectors I tell my company never to send to my inspections.

I like the 'specialists' inspections but, the only one of those that we have here have become a royal PITA to get scheduled and even worse, to get all of the reports from each of the specialists!

Michael - It does not matter to me, as long as they are competent, and can inspect the home when I need it inspected.

No not really I just want a home inspector I trust to do the job, be on time & make the buyer feel comfortable with the home they are buying.  I work with a inspection company they has only 2 people who work there.

Michael,
I prefer to work with a solo inspector. Having the primary inspector suddenly send his back up can create problems.

No, not really.  It depends more on my impression of the way the inspector conducts his business and the way he/she communicates with customers.

I go more with word of mouth recommendation and use the home insector that has the best reputation whether a single person or from a large group of inspectors.

I always refer the inspector whom I trust.  He is a one man show.  He takes his time with the buyers and explains everything to them.  I have tried the big shops and just wasn't as impressed.

Yes, we prefer a company that shows up with inspectors for A/C, roof, pest, pool in addition to the regular home inspector.
