This is an interesting question and enjoyed the answers.  I do not have it included in my listing presentation.  I do bring it up when posting information about their property by sending a link.  Shows one more place they are being advertised.  Mark

AR has no meaning to the  consumer.

However, I would exploit AR just like I would any other resource like FaceBook.

Being a resource of which they have no knowledge, AR becomes a 'secret' resource that allows the invisible market to work in the sellers favor as I present it.

I never, ever, mention ranking because that is about me. I expect ranking or ranking confusion will be for sale in the future. The benefit of REAL ESTATE MADE EZ is about THEM.

I think the public has 'tuned out' the #1 stuff, (a,k.a. real estate agent Success Theater) just like agents have tuned out the '#1 on Google' solicitations.

Instead, I start on the outcome then present the preparation.

I do use it when on a listing appt in the city or county where I am ranked number ONE.  I let them know this for visibility reasons when blogging about their home.  Colorado I am only number THREE but I am number one in my county and city.

Yes & people don't know the platform. When they come they start reading & then they know what it's about. I also use other posts that were quoted in the WSJ, etc. I think I call myself a real estate author/contributor on LinkedIn.

If you have a blog, you are in the minority if it's got any info on it. Shows credability I believe.

I don't think I have ever used it, I don't think the public would much care about your ranking based on points from a real estate community.

I suspect that consumers have little interest in your ranking on the ActiveRain leaderboard.  A high percentage of consumers do could not tell you what ActiveRain is or does.

I don't.  It's not really relevant.  A lot of my clients have Googled me and found links to my ActiveRain blog and my outside blog and website.  I'm more concerned that what they find is quality writing about home buying and selling, but ranking means nothing to them.

I do show sellers what I do with a blog post about their listing. They love it. I include a realbird slideshow that really shows the property nicely. I don't use my ranking at all. I just call AR a marketing tool I use and I explain that the listings gets a lot of exposure all over the country.

Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers when I am on ActiveRain, it serves me two purpose - interaction with other members and learning.

Next - promote my presence on ActiveRain to help my clients - by blogging, by marketing their homes and of course, sharing my online presence to them.

I use it to tell people that I blog about their listing as an additional way to market and promote.  I've never thought about telling them about ranking and I don't think it would matter.

I dont advertise AR to most of my clients since most are not interested in ar as much as they are in Linkedin.

However we did get one appraisal just because we were the top agent in the county.

We're #1 Fort Wayne and Allen County by a landslide here on AR.  It was fun getting there, and I take a little bit of pride in our work here, but the general public doesn't even know what Active Rain is.

I focus on our marketing efforts, market knowledge, and experience as real estate agents, not my writing skills.

Interesting question!

Tony, I have not been on a presentation outside of my sphere since obtaining a decent rank.  I agree that most don't know it exists.  I would refer to AR as a "Nation-wide agent to agent marketing platform" where I am "well regarded" and a "top expert in my county and city."  I'd further explain that it is one more piece of marketing that 99% of the area realtors do not do.  I think with sites like WikiRealty being marketed to the public by the California Association of Realtors that people are becoming more aware of this type of site.
