Neither.  I do New Year's cards.  They are more memorable and avoid an religious issues.  People remember them more in the new year vs all the clutter for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We put the 2016 calendars and Thanksgiving cards in the mail last night.  We do this early as many will be traveling over the holiday.  About 200 others will get Christmas cards.

I do both+1 as over November & December (and New Years) as I sand out cards to my top 200 in my CRM. I just divide my list of recipients and 50% get a Turkey Card & 50% get Santa. I also send out New Years cards to the balance of my CRM 201-300. I use all three holidays to get the project done and rotate the groups each year.

I do think Christmas cards are more impactful than people realize-since nobody sends them anymore. I used to cover our front door in cards, not I get about 10 between work & personal total. I get lots of e-cards the last few years and those are about as meaningful as a pre-printed card.

I can only get about 100 handwritten cards a month out with dedicated "card days" to accomplish the extra 50. I naturally send 50 notes per month, the extra 50 takes planning.

I am doing Thanksgiving cards ... I just like the idea on so many levels.  Saying thank-you to begin with.  I am debating whether I will send Christmas Cards ... or wait until after the 1st of the year for another mailing. For the very reasons you mention.  Will be interested to see what others say regarding this question ...

I have sent Thanksgiving and Christmas cards in the past.

I prefer the Thanksgiving cards because fewer of those cards are received by the typical family.

In our market, we have a very diverse population and many prospects are not Christians.

I think birthday and anniversary cards are more effective for building relationships.

I send something at Christmas Time.  This year I am doing 5 x 7 calendars as my Christmas card.  I feel like Thanksgiving is too in your face, but that is just my humble opinion.

All of my past and present clients and friends receive a Thanksgiving card as this is something only a few do.

Close clients and friends will also get a Christmas, Hanukkah etc card as well.

Good morning Michael. I do not send out any cards any longer, haven't for a number of years. Do cards you get, unless from family that really make that much of a difference to you?
