It all depends.  I've traveled really far (like an hour plus away) for family members and favorite clients who were buying, but I generally refer out listings that are far from home.

I work in a few counties and I'd drive for a listing up to 20 miles. If it is a short sale, it can be further. In L.A. distance is not as important as the time when you drive. At traffic time I can drive few miles for an hour or even more.

I'm going to go with "depends on the listing/client/opportunity."  45 minutes-1.5 hours is the general max range.  Of course out here, the same listing can be both 45 and 90 minutes away depending on the time of day.

I never wander out of my market expertise usually. Sonoma County has a population of 500,000. I have friends who do big land deals and their reach is much farther than mine. Commercial? The nation! Luxury? We've got enough here in Sonoma County to keep me busy but I met a Realtor who the "world is my marketplace!" I think it all comes down to market experience and your deftness with clients.

For me the equivalent would be a doc signing or settlement.  It varies, but typically I'll make a  1.5-2 hour drive depending on how crazy the day is.
