John - I have never had that happen prior to closing.

I would certainly mention to the buyer's agent that this is inappropriate, and nobody should be entering the home without an appointment until it closes.

This would be a first for me!  It is certainly not the custom in my area for buyers or their relatives to show up at the home they are purchasing without an appointment and their agent.  Usually presettlement access is spelled out in the boiler-plate contracts.

Wow...that is unethical and illegal. I would let the buyer's agent know that this is absolutely not acceptable.  I would suggest that you change the keys to the doors.  I know that you are about to close the transaction in a couple of days, however, you definitely don't want any more surprises.

I've had interference from parents before. It will happen and it is what it is. They believe rightly or wrongly that they are acting in their family's best interest. I don't think it's something I would really prepare for as it happens so infrequently.
