I'm in the South-winters are short and sweet--so not much. My HVAC guy will service our furnace, my irrigation guy will blow out the system of water, and I will change my closets to have my fall/winter clothes in the master bedroom closet.

Clean all the windows as it is our dry season (no more water drop spots).

 Good Saturday morning Bob. I'm going to be working on decluttering, putting up the summer furniture and cleaning out the gutter systems. There are a host of other things as well.

Seading winter grass, making sure heater is working for the pool and stuff like that

Mow the yard, clean out the gutters ad turn off all the outside faucets, and a few other duties.

Blow out the sprinklers, clean the gutters, close the vents to the crawlspace and remove hoses from the outside faucets.

Lower the umbrella on the patio.

Good morning Bob. Our properties are in tiptop shape, so repairs are handled once they are spotted, other that normal fall clean up, not much needs to be done this year.

Winter is still almost 3 months away up here.  I still need to see the fall colours and do many fall activities until I start thinking about winter. 

Got the drought tolerant material yard delivered today.  The worker says he will not be here leaving mushroom compost and top soil mix in front of our bed room window.  Covered it up. Hopefully the reduced odor will keep flies away...

Waiting for that rain since one can not turn on water sprinkler by city code.

The list is too long to share... up here you really do prepare for winter from making sure you have wood to clearing the drive of all possible obstacles to get in the way of the snow plow. it is a process to be ready for winter in more than physical ways... you have to prepare mentally too...dark, snow, ice and all that.... but winter is beautiful too!

Honestly just disconnect my water hose and generally not before November.

Sometimes, early sunset and shorter days do impact the energy level - so adding little EXTRA exercise should help.

We just had our exterior trim painted and fresh caulking all around where needed. We also changed the weather stripping on a couple of doors.

I still need to order my 5 pallets of wood pellets....10,000 pounds of pellets will carry me through the winter.... I like my house at 80 degrees.... with quick weight loss, I'm always cold....a home that's at 70 is cold to me...

I will wait until we get the first hard freeze warning and then I will wrap my outside faucets.

Have the irrigation lines blown out and put my courtyard furniture under cover.

The caulking is done, cord of firewood stacked, HVAC scheduled for check, snowblower is seviced, driveway sealed yesterday and I need a nap after readind what I have done so far!

Change the decor from summer to fall, eventually to winter. Clean up the yard and trim, put out heavier throws and draperies.

Turning off the air conditioning then opening the windows works best.
