I like going to historic cities with things to see - I don't have the patience to enjoy nature, sun, sea etc

Anywhere I can relax. Usually that involves beautiful scenery (red rock/mountains/etc) or the sound of crashing waves. It has to be somewhere I can be active. I love the beach, but don't like just sitting there for more than a few hours.

I usually enjoy a few weeks each year on horseback in a Wilderness Area. Absolutely no communication with the outside world.

William Feela Just taking it easy. My Wife is partial to the beach though.

I travel as a tourist to places I haven't previously seen or been to. (Not a nature girl having been raised in NYC, allergic to sun, and I get sea sick.)

We like to combine the two whenever we can. A week of exploring nature and a week of just relaxing and lounging. One year we spend two weeks on safari in Kenya and Tanzania followed by a week at a beach in Zanzibar. I am a firm believer in at least two week away, if not a month. Technology can even help you get away. Life's too short for just one-week vacations.

I know a tourist trap that asks similar types of questions to design you your perfect vacation. However, the vacation is never designed correctly for me.

William - A real vacation is usually doing something or going somewhere that I have never been or done before. Other things I just call trips; like visiting family, or going skiing, etc.

I have done cruises which are nice and I live in the mountains but I’ll take time at the sea shore as my first choice any time.
