I try to make a comment that is specific to the post, pulling out something of significance that caught my attention.

I do try to comment on those blogs to reciprocate their commenting on mine and as a show of support.  And i try to make some kind of statement that shows I actually looked at the report. 

i dont do that, but at times i will look something over, and i visited because i like the posting person, or i like the title, am possible dissapointed by that content, and will lokk for something to agree with or comment on. so i do. i try to visit and comment regardless. i usually dont visit and say nothing. sometimes i will just "like" it. Not very often, it is hard to comment on a market report.

I never blindly comment, but I also do not go back to last month's market report and compare.  I generally comment on their analysis of the report and not the actual numbers.

Sally and David, I will confess that sometimes I do, especially when the comment comes from a new-to-me blogger.  And I try to post something meaningful, even if it's a reminder that it might be a good time to write another post!

No. We comment when we have something to add to a conversation.

The "blind" comments are sometimes obvious in that it's clear that it's based purely on the title, so what's the point? I think this may be the value of the "like" button - it serves as an acknowledgment without the inane, meaningless comment.

I do not try to read every market report when I leave comments. If that were a requirement, I would not be leaving those reciprocal comments.

Reciprocation is nice but time is not always available.  There are more than a few AR members who commit drive by comments on a daily basis - I try to make any comments I leave relevant to the post.  

Only those who are dutifully being polite and use can language. Ditto, ditto
