it truly depends on so much- who the other agent is, who the lender is, etc. I have a couple of lenders that I know will email me and keep me in the loop. Others the agent on the buyers side is great and will keep me informed and then those that I call at least weekly and more often as we get closer.

I can not say that it saved any transaction in and of itself, but it has led to a refferal to me from a lender.

I contact them when the offer is received and during the transaction before and after the appraisal to make sure things are going well and get anything they may need from the seller.

Of course, if I need assurance of buyer's agent has failed to meet the deadline, I do call them and find out where they are.

Otherwise, I do not want to step into buyer's agent's responsibility.

As often as necessary.   I make a call to a buyer's lender prior to presenting the offer to my seller to get a better idea of the client's and LO ability to perform in a transaction.  I'll check in asking for progress reports if they don't provide them and the occasional email/phone calls regarding "anything you need from me or anyone else in the transaction?".

Only making sure the lender is reputable and can deliver the contract. Our area is often 21 days or shorter COE, no appraisal or inspection contingency. If the lender fails we sink together.  I have seen contract even stipulate if the funding is not funded there is a late fee of $ per diem.

As a lender, I introduce myself to listing agent as soon as I receive the contract, and then update once  a week, more if the situation calls for it.
