Very rarely, though when it comes, is a very nice gesture.

In CA, they do not ever attend closing, rarely a doc signing. We usually receive a confirmation via email from escrow: closed! congratulations!

Most of the time the loan officer is at the closing, along with the listing and selling agents.

About half the time. I am not surprised either way if they show up or don't. The buyers usaully don't seem to care.

My experience is that loan officers seldom attend settlements. Hopefully, they do not need to be there.

Good morning Frank. I attend no closings, it would be impossible, but my clients know I can be reached if there is ever a problem.

I would say that with my buyers the loan officer comes to closing at least 75% of the time.

My prefered loan officer makes every single closing, has not missed one of mine & from what he says has not missed one in the 35 years doing business. Well he is a team with his son and one of them is at every closing.

The closing funds are needed to close, the loan officer not so much. Though they probably should be available by phone.

I have been in business 15 years and have NEVER had a loan officer at a closing. Most of the time like 90% of the time the loan package is late from the lender these days.

My preferred lender is there at all of our closings. I think he's maybe missed one out of thirty or so in the last few years, and that's because he was out of town.

In this area, any lender or buyers agent that feels that business depends on relationships is at the closing. Yes there are scheduling problems that happen, but it is easy to tell when the buyer is doing business with a good support team that is working for them past the immediate closing.

Hi Frank, rarely. But when it does happen, I don't see the point. Seems to be a waste of time for such a practice by a loan officer.

When I used a local lender he attended most all closings. Now, my lender is not local ... but times and technology have changed and I don't see a need for a lender to be present at closing.
