Not very much in Charlotte. Most of the larger firms are in office buildings (the way we used to be in NYC). It would be hard to find us. And Charlotte is pretty much a spread out city as well.

Good Tuesday morning Evelyn. I would have to say 50% or more of the offices in this area are virtual offices. As far as walk-in traffic? Brick-and-mortar gets my vote

Evelyn Johnston - as far as my clients are concern, they walk-in by invitation! (Yes, for buyer consultations) and I walk in their homes for listing appointments.
Just walk-in to real estate office sounds unusual in these days.

We had an office right next to the new metro station, and rarely did anyone walk in before or after the station opened. Seems everyone researches online these days.

Some B&M brokerages do. The amount of traffic would depend on factors such as location, foot and drive-by traffic, hours of operation and more.

Good morning Evelyn. I can count on one hand the amount of walking business that actually gets done, so bricks and mortar has my vote.

We certainly do get real live people who walk in our door everyday! People like to come in and go over the market and listings together... we have coffee too!

Evelyn,
They do here in Santa Barbara. And, I would assume that they do in parts of Los Angeles, in Napa, Yountville and Sonoma. As much as we all love the Internet, many folks in second markets like walking in, sitting down and enjoying the company. One of my clients has a corner building and its is furnished like a living room with big leather couches, and wide screen TV's to show off their listings. She also serve cappuccinos and espressos, and or a glass of wine. A

Evelyn - This is a good question, and I am not really sure if any of the brick and mortar brokerages in my area are getting walk in traffic or not.

We get a lot of walk in traffic in my office. I just recently converted a walk in potential buyer to a new home owner in my area.

There are walk in clients still but I don't see as many Realtors making a living off of it like they were when I started in 1996. I guess Open Houses are still bring in success as many are still held open.

I'm sure as long as there are savings and checking accounts, there will be walk-in traffic.
