Is it a concept? Or is it actually real? I am tired of hearing "open concept" when referring to a floor plan. Either it is a open plan... or it is a concept they like ..but didn't achieve. Am I wrong?

Haha, I think when they say it it means that is the concept we went for and we achieved it. Thats just what it means to me though, never heard someone use it when a home was not open concept.

The term "open concept houses" has been used in Canada much longer than the HGTV shows. We also have also concept schools going back many decades.
