YES. For example: My CDPE earned me almost my total living 2007-2011, so yes, the few I do, make me money for what I learned from the courses to earn them.

I use to have 9 of them..... I wanted them.... everything helps....those who saw the designations knew I was involved in furthering my education on a variety of topics....

Earning, maybe due to the education associated with them, having them is not likely to attract clients though.

Winston Heverly I believe the agent gets more out of Designations than the consumer. I have one the consumer does understand - Broker.

Designations are an intangible.  The general public doesn't have a clue what they mean.  I just love to learn, so designations were a bonus.  The real power comes from the self-confidence of having in-depth market and industry knowledge.  That's where the money is... in the way you present yourself as an authority.

It is the education gained while earning the designations that is important. That additional knowledge has been of value and has added to my competence and success as a Realtor®

It's the person, not the designations that bring home the bacon. There is nothing wrong with a good education. Your clients are not really interested in all those letters behind your name. Actions speak louder than designations. Go out and be the best you can be !!

With the responses so far received, I'm wondering where the NAR gets their satistics of how certain Designations increase your income? That being said I could have earned my CRS two decades ago, but decided on it now. Finishing up a few more hours. Keep the answers coming. Thanks again for stopping by.

When I look for a professional like a doctor, I look for someone that has more than just a medical license.  I want someone who is on the cutting edge and the most educated about what I need.

Home buyers have no idea what the designations mean, but they already know that I am not someone who just got a license and am not  a run-of-the-mill typical untrained agent.

Advanced classes/designations have given me an edge over someone who is not educated...there is not much that I cannot talk intelligently about.

NAR statistics show that agents with designation make more money...believe it.
