independent.... I don't like rules....I don't like dictators.... I have my own style and my own thoughts....and as long as I stay on the right side of the line, I'm good....

I am independent now and am happy that I made the change working for myself for many of the reasons already mentioned . The biggest was having office in my home and low overhead except paying for E&O

I have owned independent and franchised offices.

Today, I would opt for a RE/MAX franchise or another strong national franchise.

At most I would do a small franchises until I had the actual tangible assets to take me to the next level.

I'm an independent kind of girl.  I want to only answer to me and I want the branding.

I opened my independent office, Integrity Real Estate Services, LLC 10 years ago.  I had considered a franchise but the only one that came close to what I wanted to do was a Re/Max franchise.  I like being known for our quality of service due to our efforts instead of being known as the local xyz office depending upon the reputation of a franchise.

I am an idependent! there are enough Franchises out there...  where I live the people are independent and like working with the person they trust! 

Paul - I would probably have to say that I would go independent. I am not very good with having someone tell me how I need to do things, or having to follow someone else's procedures, or sharing my earnings.

I would be an independent.  I have worked for a franchise previously and probably wouldn't do it again.  I have done better on my own without the franchise.  With all of the technology out there today I don't think people care what company you work for.  As long as you work hard for them, have knowledge, and do a good job, that is all they are looking for.

The advantages much outweigh the disavantages..

I'm with Michael Jacobs.  I don't need that stress, but I applaud those who want to. 

I have no intention of doing that.  Ever.   No way.  

I can still "own" my business while working under another broker's license.

It's great to have choices and for those who want to go out and do it -- good for them.
