Heat in summer here in the Carolinas is normal, so I don't see much impact. Now, when it gets really cold or raining.... then I see impact!

More people are at the cottage, the island, the parks, pools, the beach, our beautiful Lake Ontario or otherwise enjoying the outdoors or staying inside being cool, while fewer people are interested in open houses or looking at properties.

I have heard people complaining about the heat, it's been in the lower 90's but that is normal for summer. I don't think it really impacts the business as much as the fact so many are on vacation out of town.

I live on the Outer Banks of NC.  The heat this summer has indeed been severe - the heat index yesterday was 108 degrees!  

Summer tends to be our slowest selling season, because most homes are rented, and you can't get in to show them except for a few hours on turnover day...however, this summer is an exception to that rule.

I've had the best June/July in YEARS.

Start very early, carry plenty of water, and take a midday break if needed.

Barbara Todaro is correct.  That's why I always recommended that sellers NOT take their homes off the market during the holiday season.  Serious buyers are looking.

We don't have humidity so when the temps are hot it really doesn't feel as hot as it is.  No impact.

Hi Joe - it can make me cranky.  That can't be good for business.   

Not as much as the drought. Here in Florida, it is expected so people just deal with the heat.

people still want to list and people still want to buy.

We're looking at 100 degree days this week and I'm feeling somewhat tempered by it over the years.

It's the winter weather that does us in...prevents us from getting on jobs, hard to use wet saw, slows us down and many don't want work done on their homes.  The severe hot weather slows us down a bit/makes us tired.  For wood/sanding, AC must be on so it's between 65 and 75, otherwise there will be problems with the work later.

Showers 3 times a day

I find that showings for vacant houses without the electricity on go by about 10 times as fast. Buyers view the entire second story in about 1 minuet sometimes! The joys of 100+

Joe Petrowsky ... I'd say, just like a brutal winter, excessive heat does slow down business.  Business seems to mirror those weather patterns ...

We have had monsoon like weather with high humidity.  We had to stop working around 3PM.  

So far not much!  It has been in the upper 90's here in atlanta since June 7th.

The heat index was over 100 degrees in our area yesterday. You can be sure that lots of plans were deferred.

That +$25,000 for a house with a pool looks like a bargin.

It's the snow that stops buyers here, but with the heat we are still seeing buyers out and about!

Where I live summer is finally here and I am loving it except for the road construction going on requires some maneuvering .

those who are serious buyers and have an urgency will look in any type of weather....
