Michael - The home page is exactly that, the home page of AR. The message means that someone deemed your post worthy of being on the home page, and typically more people will see it there.
I believe other people have already answered where it is at.

This is either because it's a "popular" post (based on a certain # of comments) or "high traffic" meaning it got above a certain amt of clicks. The thresholds on these have not been shared, but they are not that high as many posts make it there. Sounds like Bob will tweak/increase the thresholds soon.
No points.
It just means it's on the home page (i.e. ActiveRain.com).

It means that you receive a spam message and have no way to stop them.

Activerain.com is the home page.
For some of the "popular" posts that are one the homepage, I don't understand why they are there. For example, posts of specific listings, often in small towns, that supposedly have received a lot of traffic.
Some posts or questions or answers to questions seem to "receive so much attention" because they have passed a certain criteria for number of likes, upvotes, answers, comments etc.
I think a lot of them are homepage clutter.

Click on the "activerain" cloud in the upper left corner and that will take you to the home page.
I have no idea how we end up there, because the post that I had make it didn't have that much traffic!

It means it may be seen by more viewers but other than that it doesn't matter much.

When you click on the Active Rain logo upper left you can see the home page. I woudl rather have a feature an dlet it stay there all day than an hour as many people can miss it if they dont log on during that hour

I get those emails all the time and feel like Sally Field for a nano-second, but really pay no attention. I suspect it does generate a few more comments but couldn't prove it empirically.
