I call them and ask why. I am always able to insert into the conversation that next time I would appreciate a call so I can let me seller know and they can return home.

DID NOT SHOW UP!!

This is no higher form of DISRESPECT than wasting the time of others.

The rogue agent is DISREPECTING the listing agent.
The rogue agent is DISRESPECTING the home owner.
The rogue agent has DISRESPECTING the time of EVERYONE involved.

The seller has rescheled their evening, arranged for someone to keep the dogs, made a reservation at the resturant, they tweeked up the house, lit the candles turned on the pool fountain, baked the cookies....and when that agent does not show up, who do they think the owner puts in the crosshairs?

A buyer agent who is incapable for managing their buyer or incapable of setting and keeping a schedule properly should stay entirely in the REO markeplace. They are unfit to work or play with others.

Be aware....THERE IS NO EXCUSE. You have a phone with you at all times. There is NO EXCUSE! How can you not call you rogue scroundrel?

First they go on THE LIST. (I'll get my time back)

Next I send their broker a $250 Non-Fullfillment bill. Reimburse owner for their costs.

Then I wait for the call.

Would you like to know how I REALLY feel?

Susan,

It is not unreasonable to expect someone to give you a heads up that they can't make it.  When we lived in Los Angeles, we always allowed extra time for traffic, but we could always called.  The agents we dealt with were great and showed up everytime.  Sometimes, they forget to call, when their wife is about to give birth, that has happened to me...and apologies come later, so I give the benefit of the doubt.  A

I usually text or call to confirm a couple hours prior. If they still miss the appointment -- I will call them and make a point to say they should have called, text, or emailed to let us know. Then they go on a watch list for the future!

If they didnt have an emergency reason for missing the appointment, I would reévaluate their employment with me.  They are representing you (as the Broker), not only is it disrespetful but reflects poorly on your company.  Refferals in this industry are HUGE one missed appointment coould be a loss of several potential clients.

Fortunately it rarely happens in my business, maybe because I make a point by texting the day before to confirm. If I don't get a confirmation I text again or call on the scheduled day. But if an agent doesn't call to let me know they won't be coming I do email or call them and ask for an explanation.

Unless it has happened more than once, I would leave it alone. I might send an email asking for a courtesy call if they are not going to show.

Wonder why. I have missed appointments too and it was because we were running late and did not make it. As long as this is the answer I forgive.

I don't get mad about it anymore, I feel bad for their clients for having to deal with someone so unprofessional.

Thinks come up, maybe they fell in love with the first home they saw that day, and thats fine, but sent a text, a quick call something.
