Good Monday morning Dan. There are those darlings put out crap and get featured and there are those who write really good stuff and it goes nowhere. It all depends as to whether you are one of the chosen few. Active rain has always been "Clicky".

views and clicks have zero to do with features. I have posts that I honestly think maybe 3 activerain people see/read, but they get huge amounts of traffic from consumers. That's way more important to me than a feature. Now if you get a bunch of "likes" on your post it's likely to be considered for feature

Features never cross my mind. I don't normally get them or think about looking to see who does.

Puzzling, isn't it? I've published eight posts which received between 10,000 and 15,000 views, but not a single one received a feature. I've received praise from the Editor-in-Chief of Realtor Magazine for posts published here that pretty much went unnoticed in this community.
If you rely on validation from being "Featured" here, you'll drive yourself crazy. Sometimes the Emperor really doesn't have any clothes.

This is part of the mystery of the ActiveRain platform. You need insider friends to receive feature recognition.
It is best not to worry about being featured. Write good content and enjoy the learning experience.

Good morning Dan. That is one of Life's mysteries. Do worry about getting featured, just keep sharing good content, the features will come when they are least expected.
Make it a great week!

Some of us have been here for years and can't answer that question. Just enjoy the SEO you're receiving...

Who cares? The way the blog roll has features set up, it wouldn't matter and no one would see the posts anyway. The blog roll is moving too fast.

I've tried to crack the Feature code for years and I have absolutely no clue :) I don't want the Feature for the validation or the points but for the increased exposure. I love being on the Front page and I love being in the Daily Drop - no idea how those are determined either!
