They won't drop them.  They can use the numbers to say we have x amount of members.

I think it might be a good idea....let the players play and those who never show up be dropped....one gets points for commenting....anyone who has not had points for a year and is a "rainer" should be dropped....that's extra baggage....

No I couldn't care less.  They have lost their opportunity, but no their info should not be deleted.  I'm sure we have all signed up for things and not done much with it.

I will also add that some of those older bloggers have GREAT content and it continues to generate activity on the site and advice to current bloggers.

So, that would be a definite NO for me.

I've always thought of AR's numbers like gym memberships. A lot of people join the gym in January (or set up AR profiles), but those who stick with it more than a couple of months is only 10% or less. My blogging is more for local buyers and sellers rather than other AR members, so it doesn't affect me. Still, I wish AR would be more genuine in reporting their numbers.

It doesn't affect me one way or another. And, to be honest, there are other more pressing things that concern me

I really don't care if they do or not.  Though I wasn't very active when I started and it took me a while to warm to the"Rain".

I would drop the inactive ones... why clog up the system? But first I'd send them a notice about impending drop if they stay inactive.

Maybe after an e-mail warning unless they're a paid member then I guess they can do whatever they wish.

No, they should NEVER be dropped from the memebership rolls. The critical mass they create are essential for creating the authority AR needs to help the rest of us.

It may be a better idea that those who have not posed on 6 or 12 months lose their ranking and fall below the active members regarding how the are shown on associated lists.

Good morning Michael.  I know of an agent who has left for greener pastures about 5 years ago.  He is still on the roll.  If one does not post or make comments lets say within 6 months they need to be dropped.

Hello,

As a once active member, who moved from the area (and let's admit it life happened) I'm really happy to be returning to AR and REALLY happy I was not dropped from the system.

First maybe someonce needs to ask why they are inactive?  They could be having issues.   I was in a car wreck several years ago and I shatted my right foot.  I was out of work for a year.

Looking at only the total number of members who are licensed real estate associates you come up with approximately 17%. That's what I would call a fair share. Whether active or not here has no consequence except to themselves.

I feel that we lie to the public when we boast the number of members.

If it would save money for the company and inprove service...dropping those that have only a name would be a good idea AFTER E-Mailing them to that effect.  I would bet many would not remember even signing up their names.

This has been talked about before. I think there should be a system to weed out the inactive members. Maybe if someone hasn't logged in for six months, they get an email saying their account will be closed due to inactivity unless that changes in the next week. It doesn't have to be harsh, but there has to be a way to keep the membership roster cleaned up.

They claim ~249,000 members signed up.  There are probably 15 agents are doing blogging out of licensed ~50,000 agents/brokers in my county.

When I search my local county I am the current lone active blogger/agent. Does it bother me if the rest are silien ?  Heck, no.

Good question. I think the previous regime cared more about bragging rights of members instead of engagement. What I hope is that the new bosses can look to the many great bloggers who quit this platform to see if they can come back and help make AR regain the relevance it once had.
