John,
I have no experience of Ben Kinney other than what I have heard, and we do not have an opinion on the subject. He bought this because I am sure he wants to have a money making operation not a money losing one. And, that is what I would want to have, if I invested a chunk of cash. Active Rain does not run on good will and great blogs.
We enjoyed doing a Webinar with Bob, and think highly of him. Time will tell, and we are open to seeing what will evolve re this change. We are hoping for the best...A

Most of the comments I have read have been very positive. Personally, I will reserve judgment until I see some major improvements in the ActiveRain platform. Practices of the past may not meet the needs of the future.

Good morning John. I think that this is one of these deals where time will tell. I am being cautiously optimistic.

I am very upbeat about it, John. It has got to be better than what the future was looking like with Zillow.

I don't know Ben Kinny personally. In fact I've never met him. I saw him once at an AR University at USD a few years back and was somewhat impressed.
What I do know though is that the history of AR and Bob Kinny go back to the beginning which resonates positively with me. So if there's anyone can relate to the good ole days it's he and his staff.
Plus having Bob Stewart back is a big PLUS. He was a guiding inspirition for many members over the years and hd the patience of JOB. I hope there's still a few of us around that remember that ole metaphor.
Bottom line, and there is always that, AR had no biz in the big boys nest of publicly traded companies and black tie execs. My enthusiasm level fell 20 decibles when I heard they were acquired by Market Leader. Another 30 when T stepped in and it tanked when Z took the helm.
Frankly, I think AR is right back where it oughta be.
