We have Verizon and I can not take calls in my kitchen or dining room.  I guess thats considered rural.

Verizon and I almost always get a signal.  Some country roads with heavy electrical line and lots of hills and valleys are more apt to drop calls, but not very often.  Verizon has a lot of coverage in this area.

Bob -I use Verizon.  When we moved to Northern VA we had AT&T but couldn't get service where we were.  I asked others and chose Verizon.  I still have it and get very good reception. And, I've been pleased with the customer service.

I use Verizon because I am told they are the largest company with the most cell sites. I am no expert Bob but have had pretty good luck so far.

Bob Crane I use Verizon. The coverage is excellent in my part of the world. I went to an out of town meeting in Williamsburg, VA a couple of years ago. Verizon users were the only ones who had a signal.

Hi Bob -- I have T-Mobile.  Rural is not really a word that describes most areas of my market.  There is no "perfect" carrier but I've been pretty happy with my service -- there are certain hillside areas I cover where coverage can be difficult at times.

Verizon and have no problems in rural areas. Sometimes the meatballs at Per Bacco Italian Restaurant blocks the signal though. LOL

I use Sprint. Mainly because the plan I have is unlimited. I haven't had any major issues. Reception is fair in rual areas, again if it switches to roaming I don't pay roaming charges, (unlimited plan). I started off with Nextel so that tells you how long I've had Sprint.

In northwest Wisconsin, where a signal can be difficult to find, Verizon seems to work best, particularly in more remote areas. Cell reception in most of rural Wisconsin is still pretty poor.

I remember Verizon beng good in the late 90's living in MD. Since moving to Florida and having to make the switch because AT&T only offered the Iphone I switched. I'm sure a lot has changed, I'm happy with their signal but don't live in a rural area.

T-mobile, it's good, you'll have random spots where phone reception is perfect but your data network goes from LTE to Edge for no reason. Can't beat that free international text & data though.

We have used Verizon for many years with good results. However, as we travel, there are some areas without good reception.

I have only ever had At &T or Verizon but have used Sprint, Metro PCS and Alltel infrequently. Verizon gives me consistent performance everywhere I travel while each of the other carriers have not. The Everglades is a place you don't want to get stuck without service!

I've been with T-Mobile for donkey's years and they seem to do the job, especially overseas. I don't go into truly rural areas on any basis, so can't really comment here, but can't remember the last time I didn't have a signal in a more "rural" area of Charlotte.

I use verizon and that gets the best coverage in our area. But, yes, there are still some bad cell phone areas in the more rural sections of the county.
