Due to your your word " keeps" I'd suggest they get out of the business.  I don't do whiners well. 

I would ask them if they enjoy it at all and it is something that makes them happy.  If not, move on to something that will make them get up each day with a smile. Time is too short and this busines is too expensive if you are not passionate about what you do!

Maybe this rookie agent is on to something if he/she keeps repeating this--maybe they should get out of the business.

Build it and they will come - is that not true with roads.

Well, think you are going to fail, and you will.

When it comes down to quitting or pressing on, the decision will depend on you. Is there a better offer? In that case the answer: yes.

I heard somewhere that those who became successful in business tried on average 18 jobs before finding the right one. It is scary......but sales are not for everyone.

I'd tell them that maybe it's not the business for them.  Success in this industry takes a huge amount of drive, work ethic, and self confidence.  You truly have to believe in yourself & your ability to succeed.  Some people have a mindset suited better for a 9-5 desk job with a steady salary.

My first pass would be to help them through it but if this is a conversation that keeps going and they do nothing to change it, I start to tell them maybe they are right and this might not be the right career path.

Fish or cut bait.

Anyone, whether they be a rookie or a veteran agent, who keeps(the operative word) saying they should quit -- probably should or they should remain quiet and diligent.   Stop complaining! 

Elite Team Most agent want to quit because they have no business. I would encourage an agent to get into a mentoring program and learn the basics.

When in doubt, get out.

#1. Do I want them to stay or go?

#2. What is their voiced complaint? If it's my broker does not give me leads, then I would advise they are hiring and Neilsen's.

#3. If their disappointment is betrayal by those they trusted was giving the good advise, I squeeze to see how badly they want it. If they are not truthful, they will not show up for the 2nd door knocking adventure. (are you starting to see some of the REAL purpose of door knocking?)

This business is not magic. But is does requir these characteristics we have read before:

• Extraordinary strengths, innate skills and natural abilities

• Experience the world through curiosity with a quest for continual improvement and knowledge

• Seek to find a way, nothing is impossible

• Question everything and can’t be put into a box

• Relentlessly pursue things you want, perhaps obsessed

• Excel at things that challenge and interest you, and can completely fall apart on projects that don’t

 Real estate is hard work. Maybe they just did not want to work that hard.
