We throw a couple huge BBQ's in the summer at our home for many of our clients.  It works well.... Very personal. 

Hi Evelyn -- I haven't -- it's not a part of my personality.  As Cindy Davis answered, I find it a bit intrusive although I know there are those who are quite successful doing it.  

That's the thing about real estate -- so many different ways to conduct business.

Do you mean drop in?  If so, no. I think that is intrusive. I do touch base wih many on facebook or by email.

It depends on the client. Some relationships are strictly on a pure business level (which is totally fine!) while others make pop-bys feel natural.

 I do and sometimes I get some little plant seasonally and stop by and some I see at the gym and chat with!

Only when they know I am coming by.  I don't like it when people stop by unannounced or uninvited so I don't do it.  Do unto others .....

Evelyn, I never thought of them as "pop-bys", but I enjoy those moments.  I began stopping by clients when I was in a rental service business back in the 1970's.  I came to enjoy such impromptu visits even more as a mortgage loan officer, mostly visiting REALTORS®, but where possible I visited those I financed.

As a REALTOR®, I love taking a few minutes to catch up with my contacts, whether they be neighbor, shop worker, builder, store clerk, or barber.  I try to remember birthdays and anniversaries, but find Facebook® very helpful.

People are so interesting and most are appreciative of efforts made to better their lives.  Demands on time is the great intruder in this joy.

I don't but it is something I plan on starting.  I like the idea of throwing BBQ's.  A lot of our clients go to our church so we see them all the time.
