I would like to see the correct answer on the criteria. Kerrie La Guardia probably has the answer for you.
Using your website and your other blog platforms will probably give you the best results for driving traffic to your ActiveRain blogs.

I have never had good luck with generating business from blogs here in active rain. it is a total waste of time for me. I'm here strictly for the social interaction.

I post a short URL on other social media sites. This builds traffic, clicks and views. It doesn't increase comments.

this is based on amount of Traffic (ie. clicks) and is not really driven by comments (although I suppose comments helps drive more clicks). They purposely have not shared the criteria as they don't want people to try to game the system.
But, really, there is little reason to even bother w/ that. You don't get extra points for high traffic entries. Maybe you get a few more comments if it shows on home page. But, driving high quality traffic blog posts should be the goal anyway, not to get to the home page.
Just my 2 cents.

John- I have no earthly idea. Trust me, if I knew I'd write a post for everyone to see.

I have no idea how they determine featured posts or getting recognition.... it seems that when I write about marketing, and I do alot of that, I get something...somewhere...

John, I have no idea but would be interested in the explanation, for those who do make the page congratulations. It is all good.

I don't know either John. It seems sort of like a consolation prize for not featuring your blog.

I agree with you John. It seems like a very random process who gets awarded what.
