No, I reckon that I will age faster than I can keep up with taking photographs of myself.  I find it annoying to do this.  So, I solved the problem by not taking any.  Clients aren't asking for this and if you look at the cards of all other professions, most don't put a picture on their cards.

Ask your past clients, see what they think.

The only reason I have mine was because my past clients said, that since they spend so much money on their house, they want to know how their agents look like.

But like @Tammie White, I dont promote myself more than my company name. Yes, it's part of the succession plan - not necessarily "selling" it for me, but for the company to continue long after I am done with the business.

Yes, I do have a picture. I can see from the comments that there are pros and cons to having or not having a photo on your card. I deal with my local community and I think it's a benefit, so that when I mail or give out cards, and the community sees my face, it's for recognition purposes. I think it is a personal preference and it depends on who you are marketing to.

We work a lot of international clients...they think pictures on business cards are the agents ego talking.

When we started 23 years ago, we did the big picture thing like everyone else.

For the last 12 years we have no pictures on our cards.  It will stay that way.

No photo, just our logo. I own an independent brokerage so I want the brand recognition for my company. My signs don't have my name on them either. Once again, everything is directed to my company. I'm trying to create a sellable asset. If it's all about me, not many agents will be interested in buying the business when I get ready to sell.

Currently, I do not.  One reason is that they cannot prejudge me based on my looks. Second reason is that if they are curious about what I look like, they can go to my website listed on the card or call me - which is what I want them to do anyway.

Yes, a very nice, professional picture on my card,  my brochures, car signs  and anything else I can can imprint on.  And it is paying off.  Now when I go anywhere in my town,  people look at me and say,  "Gee, you look so familiar, where do I know you from?"  So then I can say, you have probably seen my face on real estate signs around town.  I've been representing buyers and sellers in our market for many years. Who do you know who is considering buying or selling?  Great advertising.  And NO, I DO NOT TAKE MYSELF SO SERIOUSLY...my face is my brand.

I think your picture is an important part of your marketing. I have a professional picture on my cards, my website, my marketing handouts and mailers. Not that I'm a good looking dude, but people come up to me at the super market, downtown, church, etc and say "you're the real estate guy, I see your picture everywhere." For me that's priceless.

If you make enough of an impression on a prospect when you meet them, they won't need a picture to remember you. I took my picture off my cards years ago. I think it looks more professional. In a field where everybody is doing the same thing, you actually stand out more by not having a photo on your card.

My photo in my profile is a few years old but I haven't changed much. It is on my business card. I saw an agent the other day who looked nothing like her business card and I've seen male agents who look nothing like their business card photos. Some still use their old "Glamour Shots" photos. Come on that was how many decades ago. There is one broker who still has some business cards and signs from when the brokerage was opened 25 years ago.

I think a picture has it pros & cons. When you give your card to someone, they put it away either in a pocket or purse. It may be several days later or even weeks before they find it again or see it. Looking at the card & seeing a picture may jog them memory & conversation they had with you and then they may input your info in their contact system or their card file. Also, I have read people are less apt to throw a card with a picture on it a way. The con portion of this point is some people keep an outdated picture on their card, therefore they may not remember you bc you don't look like the person on the card. A younger glam shot doesn't work if many years have gone by & you've changed your hair... and aged. The key is to update you card every 2 years & keep a current picture & up to date contact info.

Yes indeed. I have a photo on my business cards, but not on my lawn signs. That way if a prospect has a few cards after interviewing several agents they will remember which one I am :)  In my market, I would estimate that 97% of all agents have photos on their cards (judging unscientfically by the piles of cards I see in homes during showings).
