I grew up in a real estate investment environment and then majored in finance in college and then went to law school to be well prepared.

I had retired from law enforcement and was wanting something to do.  Drove by a real estate school and I went in to see about the business.   And they say the rest is history

I kinda "fell" into the finace/mortgage world... and then My husband and I started flipping homes... so my Lisence was just the next step

Hank Dugie My Wife goit her real estate license. If you can't beat them, join them so I got my license. When i went full time, she quit. Figure that one out.

It sounded interesting and I liked the fact that I could make my own hours and work around my daughter's school schedule and activities. I could also work as hard as I wanted and help supplement our family income by a substantial amount.

I knew nothing about real estate and wanted to take a licensing course to check it out.... teaching was fun but the money was so low, it was absurd....

I love it - and I love it.

The desire to avoid extensive travel...

I was not experienced enough for astronaut school.

I started working for a gentleman who had his broker's license, appraisal license and ran a surveying company.  Kind of learned the business from the ground up.

I grew up in the business. My father is one of a handful of Realtors who has been praticing for 50 years.

My Mom was in real estate for 42 years.  She was getting overwhelmed with a hot market talked me into moving to Albuquerque and I ended up opening my own business 3 short years later.  No looking back!

My retail electronics business had closed 7 years after the energy bust of 1982, I was going to move to Seattle, but decided I wanted to stay with time spent with my retired father. A friend said I think you would be good at real estate, so I said what the heck, and almost 26 years later here I am, having more fun than ever. 

We had moved to a new area and the thought of doing the 9-5 grind just didn't sit well. For years, several people had suggested I give real estate a try...they were right, I should have started many years ago. It has been a good fit.

I worked at a bank as a CSR and did not like the hours. 

Roy Kelley  It is a true blessing to grow up in something and learn the ropes as we did.

It was my mom who made me see good in doing this wonderful craft that I get to share with so many interesting people. :)

I bought a mobile home when I was 20.  It was a tent I used when backpacking.
I'm not a real estate agent but I have been an investor for many years.

Hank Dugie that's a big story I had written a post about it. I'd say, for me. it's by choice - no accident or no default!

Because I liked seeing homes, the different styles and quality and locations.  A girlfriend said to me, "you should sell homes". That was in 1983 and by 1984 I was an agent with Coldwell Banker.

I bought my first property when I was 19 and I have loved the profession ever since!
