That stuff happens. And in your case, you are lucky that someone else reported it so you didn't have to!

Nobody has done that to me. If it is a violation in your area then go through the channels and report it and get it removed. I am pretty sure it would be a violation in my area too.

I am seeing this more and more and without permission, it is a violation. There are many agents that don't mind you advertising their listings, with proper credit. It usually just takes a phone call.

In my opinion, the more marketing available for our listings, the happier I'll be.... we are listing agents and we prefer other agents to represent the buyers....we won't....we only represent the seller....I love Zillow... market the heck out of inventory....we'll do it together...

I have noticed that more scams from the public is taking place especially in the rental market. People will post the listed home as theirs and market it at a significantly lower price, thereby attracting prospects. They then ask for the security deposit to be mailed and the prospects find out too late its a scam.
I never allow another agent to market my home. That is my job and if there are any leads to be gotten I want them to come to my office as we have the listing and have done our due dilligence to attact sellers.

Well, if they did, I didn't know about it. But it is a violation of our Association rules, as well.

This goes on all the time in my community, particularly on craigslist. I had someone post my listing as recently as two weeks ago. Obviously I shut it down and sent an email to the broker.

Normally they should include a link to all listings on mls. Although, they shouldn't post it without asking for and getting permission, especially if they are attempting to make it look like it's their listing.

I have seen this several times, it is a violation in my board as well. I have also seen it happen on Craigslist. The agents I have seen do it haven't taken their own photos though, they copy and pasted directly off the MLS lol.

We see postings of listings of others all of the time. Why should this be a worry if the other agent attracts a buyer for you? Are the rules really up to date on this issue?

I often post images of houses along with the historical significance of the house.
The Bates House, the Babe Ruth house, the bowling ball house, Sterling House, the Cowen House and the list goes on.
How would you, or would you, separate these historical accounts posted by a real estate professional and your example?

Annette Lawrence if they are listed with a broker on the MLS then I would not post to FB, unless I mention the broker that has it listed
