Yes.  I work 7 days a week but can still only be in\at one place at one time.  I am mostly a buyer's agent, spend a lot of time viewing homes with clients, in over 400 properties a year.   Referral fees are nice

I've had that happen occasionally and will refer out the business that is least desirable to me in terms of location or price point. I like what Annette Lawrence said about a referall network and will put together one for different locations.

Absolutely!

From Sarasota to Tallahassee, I have a network of agents to refer folks who determine Palm Harbor is not for them. We generally swap a referral both directions once a year.

The first referral is generally at a low price point and without a referral fee. If no reciprocity occurs, I find someone willing to play ball.

Debbie - I do not refer any business within my area. At my brokerage, we all help one another out, and that way we can still work with multiple clients without having to refer them out to someone they do not know, or may not want to work with. So, yes, I may have another agent in my brokerage show my buyer clients a few homes on a day that just doesn't work out for me, but they are still my clients, and I will still write up an offer and work it to closing.

Having referral partners and a trusted agent in your own market is a must to make sure that clients are taken care of. I have foudn they don't always need to same style as we have either.
