What reasonable priced camera is recommended: that takes great photos to really show off the views in the distance that the eyes can see but the cheaper lens do not catch?

I use a Canon 5D Mark III with wide-angle lenses. It's not cheap, but I get superb results.

In the more affordable price range, I like what Jeff Pearl suggested (Panasonic Lumix).

I don't use telephoto lenses much for real estate photography, as I'm trying to emphasize what's in the foreground. If you want to emphasize an outdoor view, say a beautiful stretch of beachfront or a mountain view, you might want to try panorama photography, which isn't all that difficult to learn.

Jillian, we purchased a Nikon D5200 this summer for around $1,200 and it has been a great investment!!! It has been surprisingly easy to use and the 10-55mm lens that came with it gives great pictures in rooms. Not technically a wide angle lens but we were very happy with the results. We bought a couple of the $400 cameras and were very disappointed on the interior shots with glare and lighting issues. In that purchase price we also did get a 55-300mm telephoto lens and it really catches things at a distance!!!

I'm afraid I can't help with cameras Jillian. I gave up taking my own photos years ago. For $100-$150, I get professional photos for each property an it makes all the differences in the world. This fee inc;udes touch ups and light adjustments on photoshop. My photos always pop- best money I spend on a listing.
