Get to Know Walt Anderson

I've been a licensed Realtor® since 1998. I have also owned an insurance agency since 1973, management of which I turned over to my daughter Joy when I started my real estate career. The business I built from the ground up is still thriving and still in the family, now owned and skillfully managed by Joy. I think that achieving the needed skill set to successfully serve my clients requires three basic ingredients: Knowledge, Experience and Talent.

I have agressively pursued real estate knowledge. As a result I have achieved a number of professional benchmarks, including Accredited Consultant in Real Estate®, Certified Residential Specialist®, Accredited Buyer Representative®, Graduate Realty Institute, Seniors Real Estate Specialist® and ePRO Internet Certification from the National Association of Realtors®. I have also taken advanced training to upgrade my state of Minnesota real estate salesperson license to that of real estate Broker.

My real estate experience has come with time and activity. My full time application to real estate has regularly meant 50-60 hours work weeks, at times spread over a nearly 24 hour day. I work with both buyers and sellers, skillfully using advanced communication technology to effectively accomplish their goals. I am also an active member of the Minnesota Association of Realtors® Professional Standards Committee, helping to ensure the highest standards of ethical behavior among fellow Realtors® throughout Minnesota.

I have the talent to do a good job for my clients...talent meaning that I am adept at putting it all together to achieve the best possible results. I think my 35 years of successful results in both insurance and real estate attest to that.

Time is of the essence for achieving successful real estate transactions. As both a Realtor® and an Accredited Consultant in Real EstateTM , I have arranged my professional base to offer clients the most efficient service possible. I maintain an "official" RE/MAX office in downtown Mankato, but I do most of my work from my fully equipped home office in West Mankato. That way I have all the records and tools at my fingertips to help my clients 24/7. I use cutting edge wireless technology to make myself available nearly where ever I am. You will appreciate the professional skill, market knowledge, technology and plain old common sense that I use to guide your best moves.

Away from real estate, I spend time with family, relaxing with Margaret, my wife and best friend since 1967, and our two daughters, Heather and Joy. We enjoy our companion animals, reading, gardening and nature trail walking. I'm a member of our local Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society, currently working hard to raise money for a new shelter. My passions are social justice, humanism and progressive politics. Margaret and I share our home with five feline friends of various hues, personalities and dispositions and recently adopted golden retriever(mostly) "Annie" from our local shelter.
