Get to Know Sylvia Vergara
Prior to getting my real estate license, I worked under contract with a nonprofit organization coordinating Homebuyer Education Seminars with real estate industry professionals participating in the training, including a mortgage lending officer, title company, home insurance, credit counseling representatives and, of course, a real estate agent. After the classroom training, credit reports were pulled and I held one-on-one counseling sessions with the participants to review their credit reports and scores and they began the homebuyer process. If a family could not get approved by a lender, I counseled them on their complete financial outlook and identified areas where they could work to improve their credit scores or perhaps dispute credit issues, and continued working with them as a coach for as long as they needed, with the ultimate goal to get pre-approval through a lender in order to purchase a home of their own. Working with these families inspired me to become a licensed realtor.
I have found that my lifetime profession as a law office administrator and paralegal fits well with my Real Estate Sales profession. The law firm I have been working with the for the last year has helped many consumers with real estate issues and I have a learned a lot working with him on these cases to insure I represent my real estate client's and customers ethically and legally. I al also a bonded notary public.
In 2009 my goal is to go door to door in my rural neighborhood of 13 years and get to know my neighbors, find out which neighbors have a small business and network with them. I plan to begin a newsletter for my little rural community of Atascosa, Texas far South of San Antonio, but still in Bexar County, including a webpage for the newsletter. This is a beautiful community where many property owners have anywhere from one to 12 ++++ acres and you will see many property owners have horses and ponds and small fields growing hay or gardens.
