Get to Know Sarah Toppins

Before becoming a Realtor, Sarah was a broadcast journalist and then a college journalism professor (University of Illinois & American University).  She brings those skills to her clients - gathering lots of information about the real estate process, the current market, new trends in marketing, changing demographics and technology and a lot more.  And she uses those same communication and teaching skills to share that information to her buying and selling clients.

She prepares buyer counseling and pre-listing packets for her buying and selling clients and provides frequent email and mail updates to current and past clients.  She has numerous websites and uses the most up-to-date syndication web systems to market her properties.

Sarah does all of this in a low pressure, "win-win" environment and tailors it to the specific needs of each client.

Coming from an education background, Sarah stays up-to-date by taking numerous education courses.  She has earned the following advanced real estate education designations : Associate Broker in Maryland & Washington, DC, ABR - Accredited Buyer Representative, CIPS - Certified International Property Specialist, CDPE - Certified Distressed Property Specialist, CRS -Certified Residential Specialist, GREEN - NAR's Green Designation, GRI - Graduate, Realtors Institute, e-PRO, RECS - Real Estate Cyber Specialist, SRES - Senior Real Estate Specialist, TRC - Transnational Referral Specialist, AHWD - At Home with Diversity Certification, and Historic Real Estate Specialist given by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Sarah is also very active in local, state, and national real estate education.  She has served on the Board of Directors for GCAAR - the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors and served on state and local committees, chairing some of them.  She started the International Society of GCAAR.  She's also been an officer of Long and Foster's Gold Team.  And she is one of the trainers in her Long and Foster office.

In her limited spare time, Sarah acts, ushers at local theatres, takes ballroom and latin dance lessons, teaches Sunday School, reads, and travels.  And takes courses.  She has recently begun working with the Red Cross as a member of the Montgomery County Disaster Action Team.

Buyers and sellers looking for an information and entertaining agent should consider Sarah.
