I attended Kansas State and graduated from Wichita State with a degree in nursing. I have spent the past 27 years working in a variety of areas: ER, ICU, Home Health with the Cherokee indians, Diabetes Educator, to KSU student health.  So you could say I am flexible and like change.  I am committed to my community through various civic organizations such as First United Methodist Church, PEO, Board members to The Manhattan Community Foundation and the Historic Costume and Textile Museum, Konza Prairie Quilt Guild and the Manhattan High Booster Club.

I am married to Steve Short and have 3 fantastic children and 2 grandchildren on the way. My interest include attending MHS and KSU sports and music, quilting, reading and gardening.
