Stephen Bullock is a member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI #9823), member and Chair of the New England Chapter of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS #1274021), and the National Association of Realtors.
The Appraisal Institute is the largest association of professional real estate appraisers in the US. MAI designated members are qualified to appraise all types of commercial property and have met rigorous requirements relating to education, testing, experience, demonstration of knowledge, understanding and ability. All Appraisal Institute members must adhere to a strictly enforced Code of Professional Ethics and Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is the oldest and largest professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction. RICS has more than 159,000 members in 146 countries.
Stephen Bullock has published in The Appraisal Journal, a peer-reviewed academic and professional quarterly and the most frequently referenced periodical in appraisal literature. Mr. Bullock entered the commercial appraisal and consulting business in 1987 as an Associate Appraiser with Real Estate Research Corporation (RERC), then the largest commercial real estate appraisal firm in the country. He has held Certified-General Appraiser licenses since the inception of state licensing in 1992, is in compliance with all continuing education requirements, and currently licensed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Prior to entering the commercial real estate sector Stephen Bullock worked as an accountant in Medford, Massachusetts. He was also employed as a business appraiser at a regional accounting firm in New York. Mr. Bullock has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Lowell (now University of Massachusetts at Lowell) and an M.S. in Real Estate from Georgia State University. His real estate studies include 12 post-graduate real estate courses, all courses from the Appraisal Institute / AIREA required for the MAI designation, courses from the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), International Right-of-Way Association (IRWA), and many hundreds of hours of continuing education courses.
