Scott Richardson, Associate Broker

Enjoys the challenge of today's market

Scott enjoys the challenge of helping buyers and sellers succeed in today's often formidable market. The environment in which to buy or sell a home has changed drastically over the past decade. In recent years, an agent could typically list a home and within hours or days, would negotiate multiple offers. As we all know, today is a very different environment then in the days past. There are ways to create a flurry of interest in a property even in this market, and those are secrets that a top agent like Scott has in his arsenal exclusively for his clients.  Perhaps it is due to Scotts business background that makes this challenging industry so satisfying for him. Regardless, he loves what he does, as his clients can attest.

Scott was born and raised in the area of his expertise. He has resided in Armonk and Bedford all of his life, and knows the area quite well. He attended Iona College, Hagan School of Business in New Rochelle, NY, where his father Dr. Richardson works as a professor. He graduated in 2001 with a major in Business Administration. Scott, having always had a strong passion for golf, worked post-grad as an Asst. Golf Professional at a private golf club in Greenwich, CT. After his marriage to Nicole in 2004, he chose not to relocate with the seasons and decided to settle in Westchester. He then moved into the Financial Planning industry with a major financial company in Stamford, CT. That challenging experience laid a great foundation for Scott's successful marketing and sales strategies for the home selling and buying process. Namely, he learned that strong negotiating skills are key.

In the summer of 2007, Scott decided to take the leap, forming his own real estate team, joining up with Keller Williams in White Plains, NY. He acquired his Associate Broker's designation immediately. His strong business foundation had allowed Scott to handle the ups and downs that took place in the markets soon after. He worked with a team of 4 skilled agents forming The Richardson Realty Team. The experience of having purchased several properties for himself and his wife, and managing his own personal investment property portfolio made Scott a natural educator in the area of all things Real Estate.

Scott and his team went on to form a very successful real estate meetup group "Buying & Selling Westchester Real Estate" featuring over 150 members, and a strong monthly attendance. Buyers and sellers from Westchester and Fairfield would attend this informative seminar to learn about various pertinent real estate issues and the home buying and selling process.

He quickly realized he experienced a great deal of satisfaction in working with first time home buyers. Perhaps it is that he can relate well with this niche of home buyers, or that he enjoys the excitement of searching for and closing on a clients "first home".

Scott also greatly enjoys working with home sellers throughout Westchester and Fairfield. Many times a listing will fall in the first time home buyer price range (from his experience is within the $500,000 - 1.mm range), which provides a great opportunity for both the buyer to have instant access to a brand new listing, and for the seller to have immediate buyer exposure. Scott has successfully listed and sold over $13,000,000 of real estate from 2007 - 2011.

Recently, Scott made the transition to working with Westchester Real Estate Advocates in Armonk, NY. Here, Scott works as an "Advocate" for his clients. This "Advocacy" translates into a tremendous amount of benefits for both the home buyer and seller. One of the biggest reasons he chose to become an Advocate is that he can save his clients a lot of money and time, which at the end of the day, is why most clients chose an agent in the first place.

Scott has been featured on TV and has sat on several panels discussing current market conditions, including REUTERS AdvicePoint Forum and Westchester County Association’s Young Professional Advisory Committee.
