My God, My Family, My Country, My Job---that's my priority list under "What I Love Best." I hope you're enjoying your little trip through my website. I'm going to continue to work hard to make it timely, relative, and maybe a little bit entertaining for those of you who may need my services.

If you are a buyer, you're going to want a REALTOR® who is highly confident, competent and appropriately aggressive. You're about to make an investment that can constitute an amount equal to at least 5 times your yearly income and depending upon your wants, needs and financial situation, perhaps many times more than that.

If you're a seller, you're going to want a REALTOR® with those same qualities because you are about to turn what is probably your biggest lifetime investment over to her with expectations that she will help you reap each and every dividend possible from your present investment in home ownership.

For those reasons, you deserve to know a little bit about me, since my hope is that I will ultimately be that REALTOR® you choose to represent your interests in your next real estate transaction.

Central Louisiana has always been home for my husband of 38 years and myself. We have done a little traveling but we've always wanted to call only one place "home." That's right here in Cental Louisiana. My background has been in education--I often like to tell those who ask how long I taught school that I feel like it was for at least 100 years!! I have been selling real estate right here at home for the past 10 years. We have two children, a son and a daughter, who have blessed us with five fabulously brilliant and beautiful grandchildren.

Naturally, I hold a place on the Million Dollar list and I have merited several awards bestowed by CENTURY 21 and my individual CENTURY 21 agency, CENTURY 21 Millennium located in Pineville, Louisiana. I have been wth CENTURY 21 since the beginning of my real estate career. I consider myself to be pretty much of an expert on what's going on in real estate in the North Rapides area and well as South Grant Parish. I believe that most of my clients would agree with that statement.

My ultimate goal is to see my buyers happy and my sellers satisfied when we walk away from the closing table.

The most rewarding aspects of my job is the satisfaction I derive from helping my sellers reap the certain rewards of home ownership and also witnessing the delight of those buyers who finally have the keys in hand to their very own home. Many of them have been families who believed they would never hold those keys in their hands, or at least not anytime soon. I consider my job description to be one of "adding value" to the lives of my Sellers and Buyers.

My many years in the classroom have made me a good problem-solver and I am convinced that the old adage, "Where there is a will, there is a way," holds true in most cases. You may just need help in knowing "where to go from here," so give me call. We'll put our heads (and hearts) together and get things done. After all, "Uniting Hearts & Homes" is what I do.

FOR FIRST-TIMERS:

FIRST STEPS

Two most important first steps

QUESTIONS: What are the very first steps a person should take once the decision has been made to purchase a home?

ANSWER: There are actually two very important steps and they may be interchangeable depending upon the situation. If a prospective buyer already has a good working relationship with a bank or home mortgage company, they should call the mortgage lender and get themselves pre-qualified for a mortgage loan. This can almost always be done right over the telephone and most times within a few minutes, but never more than 48 hours. If a lender is taking more than 48 hours to pre-qualify a buyer, that buyer may want to look at another lender. Pre-qualification will help a buyer know just how much money they can spend on a new house and gives them a good idea of how much their notes will be and how much they will need in closing costs and down payment. Those amounts, of course, will vary somewhat depending upon what type of financing the buyer chooses, be it FHA, VA, Conventional or some other financing program available at the time and right now there a number of excellent alternatives and not just for first-timers.

My best advice to first-time buyers.

QUESTION: What's the best piece of advice you can give a first-time buyer?

ANSWER: We live in a time and a culture where we all want the most and the best of evwerything and many times, I find my first-timers willing to make the mistake of sacrificing too much to own what they consider to be "the home of their dreams." My advice to young people who are buying their first home is this: "You want to own a house----you don't want a house to own you." Houses are prime investments and they will only continue to increase in value if you buy wisely and keep them updated and in good repair. I encourage my first-time buyers to buy a "stepping stone" that will grow in value for them and then do the necessary planning to be ready to move up when the time is right for them.
